Connect Claude and Claude Code

Custom connectors are available on Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.

  1. Open Settings ➤ Connectors in Claude, or go to claude.ai/settings/connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Enter a name, for example “Google Docs”, and the server URL, for example https://api.gpt.space/servers/google-docs/mcp. Leave the OAuth client fields empty: the server registers the client itself.
  4. Click Add, then Connect. Claude opens Google’s sign-in page; choose the account you use with GPT Workspace and accept the permissions.

Repeat for each Google app you want: one connector per server. In a chat, open the tools menu under the message box and make sure the connector is on. Claude then lists the server’s tools and uses them when a request needs them.

Try: “Create a Google Doc with the meeting notes below”, “List my unread emails from this week”, “Add a task to send the invoice by Friday”.

Add a server with the claude mcp add command, using the HTTP transport:

Terminal window
claude mcp add --transport http google-sheets https://api.gpt.space/servers/google-sheets/mcp

Then, inside Claude Code, run /mcp, pick the server and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens Google’s sign-in page; after you accept, the tools are available in the session.

Use --scope user to make the server available in every project, and repeat the command with another name and URL for each Google app.

  • “Authorization is required” or a 401 after a while: reconnect the connector; Claude renews the token through the server. If it keeps failing, see Authorization is required to perform that action.
  • Tools do not appear: the connector is off for that chat, or the connection was not finished. Open the connectors page and check that it says connected.
  • Wrong Google account: disconnect the connector, revoke GPT Workspace in your Google Account connections, and connect again choosing the right account.
