GPT Workspace apps in ChatGPT
Section titled “GPT Workspace apps in ChatGPT”GPT Workspace publishes apps in the ChatGPT app directory. They run on the same MCP servers and show a preview inside the conversation:
- Slides: describe a deck, pick a design from the template library and get a Google Slides link. The preview shows the generated slides.
- Tasks: create Google Tasks and task lists from the conversation, with a preview card.
- Forms: create forms, add questions, turn a form into a quiz and read responses.
In ChatGPT, open the apps menu (the + button or the directory) and search for GPT Workspace. Enable the app, then sign in with Google when the app asks. Mention the app in a message, for example “@GPT Workspace make a 6-slide deck about our Q3 results”.
On the free GPT Workspace plan a deck is limited to 10 slides per request.
Custom connector
Section titled “Custom connector”On ChatGPT plans that allow custom MCP servers (developer mode on Pro, and Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces configured by an admin), you can add any GPT Workspace server directly:
- Open Settings ➤ Connectors and click Create (or Add custom connector).
- Enter a name and the server URL, for example
https://api.gpt.space/servers/gmail/mcp. - Choose OAuth as the authentication and save. ChatGPT opens Google’s sign-in page; accept the permissions.
- In a chat, enable the connector from the tools menu.
The server list and the tools are the same as for every other client, see the overview and the tools reference.
Custom GPTs
Section titled “Custom GPTs”GPT Workspace also offers the custom GPTs GPT for Docs, GPT for Sheets and GPT for Slides in the GPT store. They create documents, spreadsheets and presentations and return a link, without the tool-by-tool control of an MCP connector. Search for “GPT Workspace” in the GPT store to use them.
